Health and Human Rights Info is a resource data-base that gives you free information about the consequences of human rights violations on mental health in contexts of disaster, conflict and war and an overview of experiences in the field as well as ways of dealing with such consequences on individual, group and community level. Conducting trainingns in how to meet survivors of gender based violence based on our manual Mental health and gender-based violence Helping survivors of sexual violence in conflict.
Health and Human Rights Info focuses at making professional experiences and resources accessible to health professionals and others, working with people exposed to human rights abuses, armed conflict, forced migration and other human rights violations.
Today there is a lot of relevant material in the Internet related to such issues: health, conflict, community intervention etc. Our aim is to collect relevant material and through evaluation, analysis and editing provide a reliable and comprehensive source of information.
We want this information to be of practical use and support in situations where more specialized services, within health care, are not available and care provision is essential.
With the focus on mental health, HHRI also develops training material to support health workers or those engaged as humanitarian or relief work in different emergency settings.
Clinical psychologists and researchers associated with Health and Human Rights Info (HHRI) have developed a training manual for mental health work with survivors of GBV.
The training manual “Mental health and gender-based violence Helping survivors of sexual violence in conflict” seeks to give assistance to women exposed to rape and other forms of sexual violence in conflict.
With this manual we have conducted trainings in several countries such as Cambodia, Turkey, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, Romania, Georgia, Colombia and Mexico. This manual has been translated to Arabic, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese. There have been concrete enquiries to translate the manual to Mongolian and Nepalese. For more information see our GBV manual report for 2017 http://www.hhri.org/ekstern/ReportGBVManual.pdf
