Our organization is working with children and families in need, children and teenagers with disabilities and HIV+ teenagers. Each of our projects has had a component of organizational development or of getting to the members of the community involved.
Beginning in 1996, the Heart of a Child Foundation contributed to the development, care and social reintegration of children living with HIV, children living on the streets or in placement centers, children from poor families, and children and youth with disabilities.
Often these were pioneering projects requiring courage to confront social barriers and overcome social mentalities. In addition to this direct support, we began to offer trainings, courses, and public information campaigns to the local community, professionals, and local authorities who could help support these initiatives.
Our desire to support the development of children, youth and families from underprivileged conditions and to promote their social integration has inspired us to develop long-term programs and projects. Together, this assistance can provide necessary support in the present and prepare children, youth and families for a brighter future.
