The University of Economics - Varna holds over 90 years of traditions in higher education and sciences. Over 60 000 students graduated the university and proved excellent professional realization on the international and national labour market. So far, there are about 12 500 Bulgarian and foreign students at the university.
The University prepares specialists, experts of bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as PhD students in two scientific fields - “Social, management and law sciences” and “Nature sciences, mathematics and informatics” and in four professional areas such as “Economics”, “Tourism”, “Administration and Management” and “Informatics and Computing sciences”.
There are 255 lecturers who teach at the university as 120 of them are habilitated lecturers. They work in twenty departments divided into four main faculties: Finances-Accounting, Management, Informatics and Foreign language training.
The University holds long-lasting experience in EU projects such as the Erasmus Programme, with coordinator Hedmark University College, Norway: Consumer Citizenship Network (CCN1) in the period 2003-2006 and Consumer Citizenship Network (CCN2) implemented in 2006-2009. The partnership consortium consists of over 123 universities from 37 countries amongst which UNESCO and UNEP are partnering.
We would like to establish a cooperation with university or public libraries where there is created digital centres. It is of high importance the partnering organization provides the project with specific to the project know how in organization the work of a digital centre, how to tackle with the equipment of the centre, and to be able to organize a training for the bulgarian personnel who will work at the future digital centre.
UE-Varna has very important human capital as well as technical facilities at high level.
We have valuable experience in project management and one of the most effective university libraries at local and national level. This one was renovated in the EU funded project.
