CTW work for the creation of alternative ways of life, build up sustainable human settlements, and in civil participation spreading information and tools that are needed in order to achieve local participation.
Change the World (CTW) is a nonprofit organization which was founded in Oslo, Norway in 1997. The founding members have been working together on sustainable issues and local participation with Sun & Moon Environment and Solidarity NGO since 1987.
At CTW we work for the creation of alternative ways of life, build up sustainable human settlements, and spread information and tools that are needed in order to achieve self-sufficiency and autonomy. We also work with local community to empower them and be local active citizens in their communities working with concrete project to improve their life.
CTW supports and works with local and grassroots organizations with similar goals throughout Latin America, Africa and Europe. We are also part of the worldwide ecovillage, permaculture, transition town and bioregional movements.
CTW focuses its efforts in five main areas:
* Training and Learning
* Technological Innovation,
* Creating North/South Linkages, and
* Supporting Autogestion and Community Building
We arrange seminars, conferences, workshops and courses for a variety of themes relating to sustainability. CTW has organized and participated in several events in various countries worldwide. We have a large network of partner organizations in the South and the North and foster relations between them. We send volunteers to projects and make arrangements to help people have meaningful life experiences. Our activities and vision have inspired many groups to take new steps toward sustainable lifestyles.
We are members of several networks like: Global Ecovillage Network of Europe (GEN-Europe), Scandinavian Permaculture Network, Earth Charter, Ecovillage Network of the Americas (ENA), Transition Town Network, Youth in Action, among others.
Our job has been developed in several countries and different cultures, along them: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Italy, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Senegal, USA, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, along others.
We want to get involve and share our experience and know how, and learn from the eastern countries ONG's through the EEA Grants. We want to strength on going processes with local communities and NGOâ€™s which can gain some tools and skills in order to reach in a better way successful results towards active citizenship and sustainability.
CTWs multidisciplinary team is composed of professionals from a diversity of backgrounds. We have more than 15 years of experience developing examples of sustainability and creating them at the grassroots level throughout the world.
