Stiftelsen for en Kritisk og Undersøkende Presse (SKUP) - is a foundation established in 1990, dedicated to promoting investigative journalism.
SKUP organizes an annual weekend conference for investigative reporters and editors in Norway. In 2008 SKUP hosted the Global Investigative Journalism Conference, with participants from 86 countries around the world.
The annual SKUP conference has the last years been attended by 500-600 reporters and editors.
SKUP has previously introduced names like John Pilger, Gunther Walraff, Robert Fisk, Charles Lewis, Heather Brooke, Walt Bogdanich, Julian Assange, David Leigh and the BBC-team which exposed the model business and the Chelsea supporters.
SKUP regularly offers workshops and training in various investigative methods. The foundation's website offers documentation on a decade of investigative journalism and projects in Norwegian media. SKUP also offers assistance to arrange workshops and traning for foreign journalists. We can also be a partner in building organizations.
SKUP is a NGO, and receives no funds from governmental organizations.
